INTERVIEW: PAULA SMITH

So Paula, you’re coming to St Matthew’s as our curate, please tell us something about yourself............

"I have lived in Walsall for 10 years. We moved here, with our two children, when Andy Smith was appointed Industrial Missioner and Team Vicar at St Luke’s."

"During that time I have worked as a counsellor and supervisor for local voluntary projects, as a trainer in bereavement support and listening skills and as a Lay Minister in the Walsall Team."
 

"More recently, I have been a part-time student at Queen’s Theological College; an exciting and challenging opportunity to learn and to grow in relation to God ."

"I even did a church placement in New Zealand, taking in some sight seeing along the way !"

"On October 1st, I was ordained Deacon, marking another new stage in the journey. I am looking forward to working and worshipping alongside you at St Matthew’s as curate !"
