Hiya,

In some ways there does not appear to be much going on. as with most things we are in a period of transition and change.

I currently oversee 3 outreach teams each with their own joys and problems.

soup run on a thursday. Council figures show 2 people homeless, we meet over 20 on this one night. Council are not happy about soup runs saying they encourage homelessness. as we get a fair bit of funding from the council, our management have asked to stop doing the soup run.

The good news however is that there are other city churches involved who can take over this role, and our support has encouraged and enabled a church who used to do it but fell due to leadership.

Friday night - we have 2 outreach teams out - a group of street pastors who patrol the city

see their web site www.streetpastors.org.uk who prayer walk the city, direct to clubs, transport, and a very visible church presence at night.

and a second team who have a doorstaff ministry or (bouncers to you and me) befriending, supporting, chaplaincy on the streets at their location and internet support.

Prayer points,

Please pray that the teams are God led, kept safe, and  that we apreciate the small things as well as seeking expectaions and miracles, (yep we pray for miracles)

Please pray for volunteers and workers as the harvest is ripe, and volunteers are always needed.

I am in the process of writing a Grove Booklet on internet church and Evangelism, my first time at writing, but an answer tp prayer as i have been seeking opportunities to write.

Please pray for progress for this as it is not as easy as I thought it was going to be.

I am currently working with a church seeking their vision and identity in the city centre. We are thinking about copying the model of St Martins in the Bull Ring and having a  help desk.

Please pray for this development and that it is a vision from God rather than us and the church seeking to fulfil our own altruistic needs.

I think that is about it for now, but prayer for all of the above or some would always be grateul. Other than that, I am well, tired , but well.

Thanks for your prayers.
