Colin Gibson
Hello. I am the Rector of St Matthew's and have
been here since April 2002. It was great coming to the church and finding the
people so warm and welcoming. I am married to Elisa who is from Finland and is
a nurse. We have four wonderful children: two come to church with us and two
have grown up and left home.
My vision for St Matthew's is that we become an
Acts 2 church. In the Bible, Acts chapter 2 verses 42 to 48 describe the early
church in the first few days of its existence, newly sprung from the Holy
Spirit. It describes four activities they were devoted to:
and five key values they shared:
Arguably this is how God wants His church to be!
It is certainly the kind of church I would like to belong to and I am taking
St Matthew's in this direction by exploring Cell Church together.
