“With your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.”

                                                                      Revelation 5:9

Asian Congregation or “Asiai Kalisiya” is a congregation of St Matthew’s Church, which was officially started in January 2004.  This is mainly a gathering of people who have come from India and Pakistan.

Christmas 2006

It meets every Sunday at 5.00 p.m., attracts about 70 – 80 members, half of whom are children, and worships in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi with singing in the same languages with Eastern music and sermons in Urdu. This service is truly multi-cultural. Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi speakers are usually able to understand one another. When English-speaking preachers are invited their words are translated into a mix of languages. It presents a heavenly foretaste.

People attend this service from a variety of denominational backgrounds. The services reflect this, although Holy Communion services are conducted using an Anglican rite. During the week there are three children's groups being nurtured with a strong focus on Christian teachings.  There are also special times when it broadcasts religious programmes from Urdu/Hindi radio in Birmingham.

If you are looking for an opportunity to be blessed with truly multi cultural worship services just join them. For more details please contact  Pastor Fiaz on 01922 631814.
